Example visit timetable
There are various ways you can timetable your SEND visit to the Museum.
You can bring up to 12 students for each session. Visits can start from 10am and we will work with groups to timetable your visit depending on your requirements and our availability. An example of how a visit could run is:
Option 1
- Arrive from 10.30am to settle in the Museum
- 11am to 11.30am Sensory Storytelling or Object Exploration facilitated session
- 11.30am to 12.30pm free time in the galleries (with or without a themed backpack/explorer kits)
- 12.30pm to 1pm lunch
- 1pm visit finishes
- Optional self-led Village Trail after leaving the Museum
Please note, access to the Museum galleries is only available during the free time in the galleries.
Option 2
- Arrive from 10.30am to settle in the Museum
- 11am to 12noon free time in galleries (with or without a themed backpack/explorer kits)
- 12noon to 12.30pm lunch
- 12.30pm to 1pm Sensory Storytelling or Object Observation facilitated session
- 1pm visit finishes
- Optional self-led Village Trail after leaving the Museum

Option 3
- Optional self-led Village Trail before arriving at the Museum
- Arrive from 11.30am to settle in the Museum
- 12noon to 12.30pm lunch
- 12.30pm to 1.30pm free time in galleries (with or without a themed backpack/explorer kits)
- 1.30pm to 2pm Sensory Storytelling or Object Observation facilitated session
- 2pm visit finishes
