Schools and groups
Whichever books you’re reading with your class, our school sessions will take you behind-the-scenes to discover Roald Dahl’s writing process...
Bring the magic of the Roald Dahl Museum’s Sandford Award-winning schools programme to your class. Whether you opt to visit the Museum in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire — or visit virtually from your classroom — your students will gain skills and confidence in literacy whilst learning about the creative processes of the world’s number one storyteller.
Suitable for years 2 to 8, these sessions are invaluable in developing children’s positive attitudes to reading and writing, as well as supporting you in teaching your pupils to draft, edit and evaluate.
We are now taking bookings for the 2024/2025 academic year. To find out more, please take a look at our booking page.

The Amanda Conquy Travel Bursary
Many schools need to hire coaches or pay train fares to visit the Museum. While this is not a problem for some schools, we are aware that it prevents others from visiting us who may not be able to afford these costs. Our Travel Bursary scheme is set up to identify schools which might be most in need of financial support.
