There are lots of great places for a bite to eat on our doorstep in Great Missenden.
Your Museum admission lets you come and go so feel free to head off for lunch. Please check opening times directly with the restaurant and book in advance if you can. Cafes and sandwich bars
The Canny Café in the Courtyard
The Canny Café serves delicious food and drink from the Museum courtyard. Hot and cold drinks, lunches, snacks and sweet treats can be purchased to enjoy outside in the courtyard or inside. The Canny Café is open on Saturdays and Sundays in term-time and every day we are open in the school holidays. Check our holiday opening dates here.

A quintessential old country pub and hotel approx. 15 to 20 minutes’ walk from the Museum (there is a car park if you’d prefer to drive). Enjoy food from their award-winning chef. For bigger groups, why not hire their tipi? Used to be Roald Dahl’s local.

Hotel and conference centre in stunning grounds with an 800 year history. They offer afternoon tea packages and Sunday lunch.

Peterley Manor Farm
A farm shop, plant nursey, pick your own and café. Lots of local Chilterns produce to enjoy in the converted tractor barn café, with breakfast, pizza flatbreads and options for little ones on offer. Worth the 5-minute drive from Great Missenden. The Museum’s courtyard Christmas tree is generously donated by Peterley Manor farm each year.
