Join us to celebrate 20 Years of the Museum! Enjoy storytelling, games, workshops and more...

Join us for a big birthday bash and help us to celebrate 20 splendiferous years of the Museum. Join in with birthday celebration clay workshops, listen to storytelling from Matilda and grab yourself a slice of birthday cake from The Filling-Station. You can also visit our pop-up village fete room and join in with Roald Dahl-themed games and go on our birthday Museum trail – with a special prize at the end.

You will also be able to see (and interact with!) our new courtyard art installation, specially commissioned for our birthday. Designed by artists Aprille McShane and Tony Broomhead who worked with visitors over Easter to help design the sculptural piece, it features playful movement and some surprising sounds!

Plus, look out for our lucky dip and birthday deals in the shop, visit the craft room for drop-in activities and explore the galleries. Come in fancy dress for a special prize.

Clay Celebration Creations, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Join us to make something special in clay for the Museum’s 20th birthday!  You can make YOUR favourite celebration treat or something to give to your favourite Roald Dahl character. Get stuck in and then we’ll clear up! Additional £5 per participant.
