My Year Walk – September

Sunday 22 September

Book today
Embrace the seasons on a guided Roald Dahl countryside walk.

Ramble through woods and listen to extracts from Roald Dahl’s My Year, Fantastic Mr Fox and Danny the Champion of the World in the beautiful woods and fields that inspired the books.

This month we’ll be reading extracts from the September chapter of My Year, Roald Dahl’s last book. On this walk will learn about the month of the conker! Bring your own conkers, or look for some on the walk.

This is a brilliant month to get the kids outside into nature. “The colour of the entire landscape is slowly changing from green to gold.”

£4 per person in addition to Museum entry

Option to pre-order a hot drink and scone to be waiting for you on your return for an extra £6 per person – please order by midday Thurs 19 September by emailing hello@roalddahlmuseum.org.

Walk route

The My Year walk leads you across fields and into Angling Spring Wood. There is a short, steep uphill section and a short, steel downhill section. Paths are unmade and may be muddy.  Please wear appropriate, sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.

“Great to walk in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside and listen to Michael talk about the life and work of Dahl and read from his diary. Excellent morning. Thank you”
